Jurang Jero is a national park located on the slopes of Mount Merapi. This location is in Srumbung District, Magelang Regency, Central Java. Jurang Jero is one of the new tourist destinations that is starting to be developed. Thanks to the massive development carried out by the Ministry of Environment and Forestry through the Mount Merapi National Park Center (TNGM).
Jurang Jero offers beautiful and cool natural views, with pine forests, rivers and waterfalls. Tourists can also enjoy various activities such as camping, cycling, flying fox, or walking on hiking trails. Apart from that, Jurang Jero also has high cultural values and local wisdom. Pule Village, which is one of the entrances to the tourist forest, has traditions and customs that are still sustainable.
Due to the activity of Mount Merapi the park may be closed at times.
